G1 Practice Test 5

An Ontario G1 driver's license can be achieved by passing a 40-question written knowledge test that is divided into two sections: road signs, and road rules. To pass this multiple-choice test you’ll need to answer at least 16 questions in each section correctly; questions are based on the 2024 Ontario Driver's Handbook. You’ll pay a $158.25 testing package fee at your local DriveTest Centre, which will cover your first attempt at the knowledge test and your G2 drive test, as well as being required to pass an eye exam. If you need to retake your written knowledge test, it will be an additional $15.75. The graduated driver's license (GDL) program requires that you must be at least 16 to take your G1 license test, and then hold your license for a year, or eight months if you’re in a driver training program, before you can do a driving test for your G2 license. The entire process to become a fully licensed G driver will take about two years. Your G1 license will allow you to practice your driving skills under the supervision of a licensed driver.
